Discover the Depths Within
Embark on a profound journey through Peru, immersing yourself in the captivating beauty of the land and delving into the profound mysteries of our own psyches.
This adventure follows the essence of the Hero's Journey, carefully curated to parallel Carl Jung's concept of the individuation process - our path to wholeness, integrating our unique personality, values, and potential.
Why Peru?
Peru's allure lies in its multifaceted appeal to adventurous travelers and seekers. Beyond Machu Picchu's sacred ruins, the country offers a rich tapestry of natural landscapes, from deserts and coastlines to jungles and the Andean mountains. These breathtaking environments mirror the diverse inner landscape of our psyches. Exploring UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Incan and Pre-incan civilizations adds depth to this profound experience, using their symbology and architecture as gateways to profound self-awareness.
Simply put, the sacred beauty of Peru is the ideal setting for deep healing, growth and transformation. Particularly so for those individuals who recognize they are in a stage of life that demands greater attention to the inner rhythm of their life

What’s the itinerary?
Our excursion begins in Lima, the capital city, where our group will convene and prepare for the journey to Cusco, known to the Incas as the "Center of the World." A short 1.5-hour flight from Lima to Cusco will take us to the staggering elevation of 11,152 feet. To adapt to the high altitude, we will acclimate slowly, nurturing our mind, body, and soul for the adventures that lie ahead. Our initial days in Cusco will be spent exploring the city's captivating blend of Inca and Spanish architecture and savoring the delightful local cuisine. Guided by our knowledgeable tour leader, we'll visit ancient ruins and temples within Cusco and the surrounding areas, delving deep into the history, culture, and philosophy of the indigenous Quechua people, also known as the Incas.
Once we have fully acclimated to the culture and altitude, we will embark on a remarkable 5-day trek into the Andes mountains. Our expert guides will lead us on the Ancascocha trek, immersing us in the backcountry where we will connect with Apu, the spirit of the mountains. The pinnacle of this journey will be reaching the sacred site of Machu Picchu, as we complete the last leg of the Inca trail.
After descending from the trek and basking in the profound experience of Machu Picchu, we will conclude our trip by staying in the serene Sacred Valley. Here, we will continue to immerse ourselves in the breathtaking natural surroundings while further exploring the local culture and ancient ruins in the charming towns of Ollantaytambo and Pisac. As a thrilling finale, we will engage in a heart-pumping Via-Ferrata climbing experience on the mountain walls of the Sacred Valley, followed by an exhilarating zip line course. The following day will be dedicated to wrapping up our journey, bidding farewell to the newfound friends we made, and carrying the golden knowledge acquired on this adventure back home to share with our loved ones.
How will this benefit you?
At ApraxisPath, we believe in the transformative power of adventure, cross-cultural encounters, and nature immersion as catalysts for fostering self-awareness and confidence during transitional times. Our excursions are framed around the "Hero's Journey," guiding participants through the middle journey of life. Recognizing the lack of adequate support in our culture for this phase, we are committed to providing a nurturing environment where participants can conquer inner fears and embrace their true selves wholeheartedly. We care deeply about empowering individuals to navigate their journey with resilience and purpose.
How is this a therapeutic journey?
This transformative journey is inherently therapeutic for the mind, body, and soul. Yet we go beyond just providing an awesome adventure by purposefully incorporating specific therapeutic intentions to create even greater opportunities for individuals to address the challenges in their lives.
Throughout the trip, we infuse mindfulness/meditation practices, journaling, group processing, and psychoeducational sessions, each carefully designed to complement various segments and activities. These "change agents" aim to improve self-reflection, raise awareness, and integrate elements of the psyche that may underlie stress and anxiety.
What sets this trip apart is the exceptional support provided by our licensed clinical therapists and psychologists, Dr. Youngberg and Barrett Wilson, LMFT. With decades of experience as private practice therapists and wilderness guides, they bring invaluable wisdom to guide the journey. Moreover, they will share insights and exercises rooted in the following theories:
Jungian Analytic Psychology
Internal Family Systems Therapy
Depth Psychology
Existential Psychotherapy
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
The integration of travel, adventure, nature connectedness and therapeutic interventions of these sorts are guaranteed to create an unforgettable and truly life changing experience.
