Beyond Coincidence: Exploring the Mysteries of Synchronicities
Have you ever been thinking of someone only to have the phone ring and the person in question was on the other end of the line? Maybe you’ve been in a situation where you were no longer happy with your current place of employment and suddenly you run into a long-lost friend who just happens to have a job lead. Or, maybe you find yourself seeing patterns or repeating numbers at the same time each day. These experiences would be defined by psychologist Carl Jung as synchronicities.
Entering the Mirror World: Jungian Dream Analysis
One way Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung established himself as a person of repute in the psychological world was with his work aimed at understanding the psyche through the lens of dreams. Jung saw his work with dreams as critical to the therapeutic process. Dreams, to Jung, were not simply a tool to peer into the unconscious mind, but a medium that must be explored within the process which he termed “analytical psychology”.
Embracing the Radical: Self-love, Acceptance, and Helping
When we think of the word 'radical', thoughts of political extremes or disruptive societal change might come to mind. Yet, the word radical truly only means 'fundamental' or 'root.' Winter Solstice Celebration
There is a Victorian era poem-turned-Christmas carol that begins, “In the bleak midwinter”, and isn’t bleak an often apt description of the winter season? In the Northern hemisphere, each September, the light of day incrementally gives way to longer and longer nights as the temperature drops and the ground frosts over. It was at this time of year in the days of yore, on the longest and darkest night of winter, our ancient kindred decided to throw a party.

What To Pack For A Therapy Excursion
Being prepared is an essential part of our therapeutic excursions. Because of the ways in which we’ve designed these excursions, which center around a mix of wilderness based activities and cultural experiences, knowing what to expect and how to be prepared is really important to get the most out of these experiences. As the Scandanavians say, “there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.”
